Laneway Learning

Here are some answers to the most common questions we get! If the answer to your question isn’t here, you can also take a look at our Terms and Conditions.

If you would like to get in contact with us send an email to

  • I want to register for a class but can’t pay now, what should I do?

If you would like to attend a class but can’t pay straight away don’t worry. Go ahead and register and then send an email to to let us know. We will reserve your place and work out payment details that suit your situation.

Unfortunately if you do not contact us we cannot guarantee that your place will be secure. Additionally, as classes often sell out very quickly please email us as soon as possible to make sure that you don’t miss out.
  • I can no longer attend a class, can I get a refund?

If you need to cancel your place at a class and you give us at least 48 hours notice (by email) then we are happy to transfer your payment to a different class of your choosing or issue a refund. If you booked for more than one person please let us know the name(s) of the person(s) who can no longer attend.

Unfortunately we cannot give refunds or credits for cancellations that are received with less than 48 hours notice, but please do still let us know if you are not coming. You are also welcome to give your ticket to a friend or sell it on – just let us know who to expect.
  • I want to attend a class that has sold out, what can I do?

If a class you want to attend has sold out click the ‘join the waiting list’ button and then enter your details.

When we receive a cancellation for a class we will email the first few people on the waiting list to let them know that a space is available. If you are still interested all you need to do is hop onto the website and register and pay like normal to secure your spot.

If it’s really last minute (less than a couple of hours to go) we will put a shout out on Twitter and Facebook too.

Please note that we are not able to read every entry in the ‘anything else’ box so if you have something important please consider sending us an email.
  • You ran a class that I was interested in but couldn’t attend, will you rerun it?

We keep a tally of the number of requests we receive for classes to be run again and will try to repeat any one that is particularly popular. So, get your vote in and keep an eye on the website! We also use the waiting list as a way to monitor this so it’s a good idea to sign up if you’re keen.
  • Do you do gift cards?

Yes we do. Click on this link for more info and to purchase one now.
  • How do I redeem a gift voucher?

To redeem a gift voucher, register for the class you are interested in and then send an email to telling us your name, the class you have registered for and the voucher ID. We’ll do the rest.

  • Do I need a ticket?

When you attend a Laneway Learning class we’ll have your name on the door so there’s no need to have a ticket or print off your confirmation email. Saving trees and time!
  • What time should I arrive for a class?

Our classes start at the advertised time so please aim to arrive a few minutes beforehand so you can be ready to begin.

However, some of our venues open especially for us so if you turn up too early you may find yourself standing out in the laneway! A good guide is to arrive 15 minutes before the start of your class.
  • I have seen photos from previous classes, if I attend Laneway Learning can I avoid being in these?

Of course! We like to take photographs of our classes and do use some of the shots to promote Laneway Learning but we would never use an image if it included someone who was camera shy. So, although we never link any names to the photos, please let us know when you arrive if you would rather not appear in these at all.
  • Are you wheelchair accessible?

Our accessibility varies between venues. The best thing to do is to send us an email at and we can chat about it.
  • Can I bring a child or baby?

Laneway Learning classes are aimed at adults and are a great way to unwind and have a bit of time off!

However, we are happy to welcome younger learners that would like to participate in the class (unless there’s alcohol tasting involved, then we need them to be 18). And although it’s rare we do have wee-uns at class occasionally, as long as they are content to play quietly (or nap) and don’t disrupt the class. Please be aware that we don’t have any facilities for babies or children.

If you have any questions or concerns just drop us a line and we will be happy to help.
